2017 SEAT Ibiza UK specs and prices announced

The 2017 SEAT Ibiza – SEAT’s Ford Fiesta-rivalling supermini – goes on sale in the UK priced from £13,130 with a choice of five trim levels all with five doors.

The new SEAT Ibiza was revealed in February as SEAT delivered an all-new supermini to take the fight to the Ford Fiesta, and now it’s on sale in the UK.

Surprisingly, the new Ibiza is actually shorter than the car it replaces, but it gets a new platform and actually boasts more room inside than the last Ibiza with a wheelbase that’s 60mm longer, and there’s more room in the boot too. All models now come as five-doors.

Boasting vie trim levels – S, SE, SE Technology, FR and Xcellence – the entry-level S models get electric front windows, auto lights, Air Con, Bluetooth and Front Assist, with the SE model adding 15″ alloys, fogs, auto wipers, Cruise, SEAT’s Media System Colour and ambient lighting.

The SE Technology model is expected to be the best-selling model in the UK and includes Media System Plus with 8″ infotainment screen, 3D Sat Nav, DAB and USB, with the sporty FR coming with 17″ alloys, privacy glass, black and chrome bodywork detailing, twin exhausts, sports seats, Smartphone integration, sports suspension and a choice of four drive modes.

The range-topping Ibiza Xcellence throws most of SEAT’s toys at the equation with 16″ machined alloys, grey mirror housings, Alcantara upholstery, climate, keyless, front and rear parking sensors and a rear-view camera.

Engine options are mainly from the last Ibiza and include a 1.6 litre diesel and 1.0 litre petrol, but there’s a new 1.5 TSI petrol with 148bhp too, with lower powered-models getting a five-speed manual, six-speed manual for the more powerful models and a seven-speed DSG auto as an option.

SEAT’s UK dealers are now taking orders for the 2017 Ibiza, with prices starting at £13,130. The Ibiza is due in SEAT’s showrooms in July.
