2017 Skoda Octavia FACELIFT comes with a touch of Kodiaq

The Skoda Octavia – Skoda’s best-selling model – is getting a facelift for 2017, with a hint of the Kodiaq SUV in its new front-end treatment.

The Skoda Octavia, Skoda’s enlarged take on the VW Golf, is getting a bit of a makeover for 2017, with the usual facelift stuff like tweaked front and back and updates to its technology offerings.

As you’d expect from a facelift, the most obvious changes are at the front where the Octavia gets some new LED split headlights – which give it the eyes of a Kodiaq – as well as a revised bumper.

Inside, the new Octavia gets revisions to its infotainment systems – whether the Bolero, Amundsen or Columbus is fitted – with capacitive displays with better response, 9.2″ display on the Columbus with WLAN and (if you want it) SIM card module too.

In the UK, the new Octavia will come with a choice of four engines when it arrives at the end of the year – two petrols and two diesels – with the 1.0 litre petrol; delivering 115PS, the 1.4 litre petrol 150PS, and the 1.6 diesel 115PS and 2.0 litre diesel 150PS. A DSG gearbox is available across almost the entire Octavia range.

New and updated features include a key which stores driver preferences, picnic tables, trailer assistance, parking system, heated steering wheel, bottle holders an d a torch for the estate (because the boot’s so big you need it).

The 2017 Skoda Octavia goes on sale in the UK in February. So far Skoda hasn’t given us any prices for the updated Octavia range, but it seems likely Skoda will grasp the opportunity to bump prices up and blame Brexit.
