Citroen’s C1 City Car gets a range of updates for 2018 including new technology and a new engine, as well as two new Limited Editions – the C1 Elle and C1 Urban Ride.
The Citroen C1 is a decent little City Car, with a certain style and swagger, decent equipment levels and affordable to buy and run. Which probably explains how Citroen has managed to flog over a million since the C1 arrived more than a decade ago.
To keep things fresh, Citroen is updating the C1 for 2018 with a new engine, some new technology, the odd cosmetic makeover and a couple of new Limited Edition Models – the C1 Elle (above) and C1 Urban Ride (below).
Part of the updates are about branding, with Citroen adding new chevrons to the rear glass panel and a new Citroen Monogram above the boot handle, as well as a new Citroen typeface, as well as introducing three ner colours and three bi-tone roof options for Flair and Feel trims.
There are now a total of six driving aids available – Active Safety Brake, Lane Departure Warning, Hill Start Assist, Reversing camera, Keyless Entry and Start – and new technology including Speed Sign recognition and Triple Play, with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on offer too. Under the bonnet you now get Citroen’s new VTi 72 Euro 6.2 engine as the only option.
To kick the updates off there are a couple of Special Edition C1s, with the C1 Elle getting Nude body and Black roof, black side mirrors, ‘Elle badges and an Elle Colour Pack interior with light grey upholstery with Pink stitching, gloss black and Rose highlights and mats with a splash of pink and ‘Elle’ badges.
The C1 Urban Ride gets gloss black door mirrors, a body kit, privacy glass, 15″ black alloys, White paint job (metallic Calvi Blue, Gallium Grey, Carlinite Grey or Caldera Black optional), grey and orange highlights in the interior, splashes of gloss black and a set of ‘Urban Ride’ mats.
The new C1 Elle and Urban Ride are on sale from 1 May at Citroen UK dealers.
