The new Nissan Juke is exceeding sales targets in Japan by 300%, selling over 5,000 since 6th June.
We got UK price and model details on the Nissan Juke just last month – Nissan’s new baby crossover – but the UK order book for the Juke hasn’t yet opened (although it will this month). But in Japan it opened at the start of the month, and demand is way ahead of expectation.
The order book was opened in Japan on June 6th and so far Nissan has taken orders for 5,296 Jukes – that’s three times expectations. But it shouldn’t be a big surprise. The Juke may have Marmite looks – we think it looks great (most of us) – but it offers a lot – for not a lot.
At a starting point of under £13k its going to take sales not just from other crossovers but from mainstream stuff like the Fiesta and Golf. Which is very good news for the Nissan workforce in Sunderland who get to build the Juke – all except the 4WD version.
And with tough economic times ahead the prospect of extra shifts for the Mackams on the back of the Juke’s sales is very good news indeed.
