Mercedes C180 Kompressor Efficiency Blue
Mercedes Benz has today announced that they will be bringing the C180 Kompressor Blue Efficiency to the UK in January, cutting Co2 emissions of the model and increasing fuel efficiency, and replacing the current C180 Kompressor.
Despite a reduction in capacity of almost 200cc (which begs the question, why isn’t it called the C160 – but then we’ve been that route with the 63s!), the C180 produces 156bhp and 170lb ft of torque, and offers as standard ‘efficiency’ gauges to tell the driver when the most economical time is to change gear. This increase in efficiency has benefits on both the company car scale and on road tax.
The efficiencies have been achieved by a number of small aerodynamic changes, new tyres and by a new power steering function that only offers assistance when needed, instead of throughout the range.

Most of these types of cars are a way to have a little prestige without paying the penalty on running costs. And many are bought as company vehicles. So, in these constrained times, this is a sensible move from Mercedes, which will give this car a marketing edge.

just bought a new c180 kompressor blue efficiency amg specs. lacks memory seats, gps, rear entertainment, etc…very expensive, but always been a die-hard benz enthusiast, other than that an awesome merc.
