Kia’s ‘Stunning Sports Car Concept’ is the Kia GT4 Stinger
Kia teased a ‘Stunning Sports Car’ Concept for the 2014 Detroit Auto Show last month, and it’s now got a name – the Kia GT4 Stinger – and gets 311 bhp.
Just before Christmas, Kia revealed the first teaser photo – a birds-eye view – of a new concept they’re taking to the Detroit Auto Show later this month, which they described as a stunning sports concept, but gave us absolutely nothing else.
Now with a name – the Kia GT4 Stinger – it gets an evolution of Kia’s styling complete with a much bigger ‘Tiger Nose’ grill, what appear to be columns of LED lights, a pair of bonnet vents, 20″ alloys and a carbon fibre front splitter for added downforce.
Under the bonnet sits a 2.0 litre petrol turbo engine which is good for 311 bhp and sends its power to the back wheels.
What we don’t yet know is whether the GT4 Stinger is simply a concept car or whether it points firmly at a new production model from Kia. But from what we see, a production version looks a good direction for Kia to take.
The Kia GT4 Stinger will be revealed at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show on the 13th January.
