A double-cab pick-up may not be the most perfect substitute for a car – it’s still a pick-up, after all – but it does offer a useful, cost-effective company car proposition for those who need to cart around ‘stuff’ and passengers.
Fitted with Mitsubishi’s 2.5DI-D diesel engine with 175bhp and Super Select 4WD, the L200 Challenger costs £16,499 (+vat), £1,000 less than the L200 Trojan, currently the cheapest 175bhp version of the L200.
Despite the low headline price, the L200 Challenger comes with Climate, 17″ alloys, Cruise, auto lights and wipers, privacy glass, Bluetooth and leather steering wheel, with leather upholstery an option.
The Challenger also comes with Mitsubishi’s five year, 125,000 mile warranty, Mitsubishi Assistance Package (24/7 breakdown coverage at home and in Europe) and the option of a three year service plan for £600.
The Mitsubishi L200 Challenger is now on sale in the UK from £16,499 (+vat).
