The new Porsche 911 GT3 RS has debuted at the Geneva Motor Show with 493bhp from its 4.0 litre flat-six, good for 0-62mph in 3.3 seconds. Costs £131,296.

Owners of the latest Porsche 911 GT3 are probably wishing today that they’d waited a little longer for their car, not had to have a new engine and been happy to stump up a few bob more. Because then they could have had the ultimate naturally-aspirated Porsche – the Porsche 911 GT3 RS.
The 4.0 litre flat-six engine lurking at the back delivers 493bhp – with no forced induction – and 340lb/ft of torque, enough for the rear-wheel-drive GT3 RS to get to 62mph in 3.3 seconds and on to 192mph. It’s also 7 seconds quicker round the Nurburgring than the Carrera GT.
It’s also lighter than the GT3, despite using the 911 Turbo’s wider body, and comes with only a PDK ‘box, although it’s been specially developed to suit the RS.
The chassis gets two-stage active dampers, Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus, limited slip diff and wider tracks, with 20″ alloys and ceramic brake option.
The bodywork from the 911 Turbo gets tweaked with a magnesium roof and carbon fibre for the bonnet and engine cover, there’s air vents in the front wings, a deep front splitter and a thumping great wing at the back. It looks incredibly focused.
Inside, the RS gets carbon fibre bucket seats and steering wheel from the 918 Spyder (doesn’t every Porsche now?), lots of Alcantara and the option of a Club Sport Package that adds a roll cage, battery switch, six-point harness and fire extinguisher (which you hopefully won’t need to put out an engine fire).
