The 2015 Porsche 911 Black Edition (pictured) goes on sale
Porsche has revealed 911 Carrera 2, Carrera 4 and Boxster Black Editions with cosmetic enhancements and equipment upgrades. Prices from £46,164.
Yes, even Porsche resort to special editions from time to time to get footfall in showrooms, and sales, and have revealed new Black Edition models for both the 911 and Boxster. It’s not exactly an original idea from Porsche, with many previous Black Editions like the 2011 911 Black Edition and Boxster S Black Edition doing the same job, but if it works then why not rinse and repeat?
The Porsche 911 Carrera Black Edition can be had as either a Carrera 2 or Carrera 4 (as a coupe or convertible), and both come with similar upgrades and the normal, entry-level 34bhp 3.4 litre flat six.
The titivations include 20″ alloys, LED headlights and Dynamic Light System Plus as well as heated leather seats, Bose sound, Cruise, parking sensors, reversing cam, era, auto wipers and a Sport Design steering wheel, as well as lots of ‘black’ – paint and interior. Prices are from £75,074 for the Carrera 2 Black Edition Coupe to £86,125 for the Carrera 4 Cabriolet.
The Boxster Black Edition gets a similar treatment – and is only available with the 261bhp 2.7 litre flat six engine – with 20″ Classic alloys, Xenon headlights, Sat Nav, Sport Design steering wheel, parking sensors, auto lights and wipers, cruise and upgraded sound.
The Boxster Black Edition costs £46,164, but we’d rather opt for the untitivated regular Boxster S that’s only £1500 more.
Both the 911 and Boxster Black Editions are now on sale at Porsche’s UK dealers.
