The Lamborghini Aventador SV Roadster will debut at The Quail during Monterey Week in California on 14 August, not at the Frankfurt Motor Show as was expected.
The Lamborghini Aventador Superveloce – the lighter, more powerful and more aerodynamic take on the regular Aventador – debuted at the Geneva Motor Show in the spring, and it was widely expected that the open-top take – the Lamborghini Aventador SV Roadster – would debut in Frankfurt next month. But it’s not.Instead, Lamborghini has announced that the Aventador SV LP750-4 Roadster will make its debut at The Quail next weekend during the Monterey Car Week. Which is very apt.
The Quail is held at The Quail Lodge and Golf Club in Carmel for one day during Monterey Car week, and is an event that allows just a few thousand well-heeled petrolheads the chance to see classic cars, one-off specials and the very latest offerings from the world’s supercar and hypercar makers, in great surroundings – without a throng of hoi polloi – and with free-flowing gourmet food and drink.
The Aventador SV LP750-4 Roadster will come with the same appealing mix as the Coupe, including the same 6.5 litre V12 with 740bhp, 4WD, less weight thanks to more carbon fibre, magnetic MRS suspension and ceramic brakes, and should offer the same 0-62mph of 2.8 seconds and a top speed well north of 200mph.
Just 500 units of the Lamborghini Aventador SV LP750-4 Roadster are being built, and you can probably expect prices to be around £350,000.
