2016 Volvo XC60 AWD gets Drive-E T6 petrol engine
Volvo continues the roll-out of its new four-cylinder Drive-E engines, with the T6 AWD versions of the S60, V60 and XC60 the latest additions.
As Volvo continues to power forward, its new range of economical four-cylinder Drive-E engines are key, not just to performance but to economy too. We’ve already seen Volvo extend the availability of the Drive-E engines in its FWD range back in April, with the arrival of the T2 and T3 petrols and the D2 and D3 diesels, but now its the turn of Volvo buyers who want a bit more get up and go – and all-wheel drive – to benefit.
That means the arrival of the petrol T6 Drive-E for the Volvo S60, V60 and XC90 – which currently has a 3.0 litre engine – delivering 302bhp and emissions of 161g/km, 163g/km and 179g/km respectively, a substantial drop – and improvement in economy – over the outgoing engine.
In the XC90 the T6 AWD actually delivers 316bhp, and there will also be the option of a T5 petrol with 250bhp, and a new T2 for the S60 and V60 delivers 120bhp.
For 2016 Volvo are also updating Sensus with real-time traffic information, free map updates and Apple CarPlay in the XC90, and the Volvo on Call Smartphone App also gets additional functionality including remote start and pre-heating/cooling.
