The Bentley EXP 10 Speed 6 – Bentley’s vision of a future two-seater sports car – has been declared the winner in the 2015 German Design Awards.
We saw the first photos of the Bentley EXP 10 Speed 6 Concept earlier this year as Bentley revealed their vision of a future two-seater Bentley Sports car at the Geneva Motor Show. And it was a stunner.A few months later, the EXP 10 was off to Villa d’este, where it walked away with top concept prize, and now it’s garnered more praise, this time from the 2015 German Design Awards where it’s been declared the overall winner in the transportation category.
The panel for the awards is made up of international design experts, who gave the EXP 10 the Gold gong for its “… timeless, iconic Bentley design, clever use of new materials and aesthetic dynamism”.
Johannes Barckmann, panel judge, said:
The designers of the EXP 10 Speed 6 achieved a fantastic reinterpretation of the British legend. This is particularly apparent when looking at the interior. The door panels are not covered with leather, but instead with high-quality wood.
The exterior inspires with a progressive, elegant design vocabulary that transports the classic car into the future. EXP 10 Speed 6 is an extraordinarily beautiful automobile that perfectly combines aesthetics and precision – and is unmistakably a Bentley. It couldn’t be done better.
All of which, under normal circumstances, would see us declaring that the EXP 10 is heading for production as soon as Bentley has finished getting the new Bentayga SUV in to customers hands.
But with the fallout from the Defeat Device scandal making VW look hard at where they can cut costs, investment in a new two-seater Bentley may be a casualty.
Which would be a real shame.

Wolfie says
If Bentley can produce a stunner like this, how did it come up with the clunker that is the Bentayga?
