The Jaguar F-TYPE British Design Edition has been revealed as a special edition F-Type S AWD Coupe and Convertible costing from £75,225.
It’s more than three years since the Jaguar F-Type burst on to the world stage as Jaguar’s 21st century take on the E-Type, and in that time it’s spawned new models, 4WD and endless accolades. And now we get the first ‘special edition’ F-Type – the Jaguar F-TYPE British Design Edition.Created to celebrate Jaguar’s British Heritage, the F-Type British Design is an AWD F-Type S, available in Coupe or Convertible and with a colour palette that reflects the Union Flag.
That means a choice of Caldera Red, Glacier White and Ultra Blue (although Jaguar couldn’t resist adding black as well, presumably because it sells), British Design badges on the front and back and branding on the centre console, headrests and tread plates.
Jaguar’s Sport Design Pack comes as standard – tweaked bumpers, side sills, splitters – as does the same Super Performance Braking as the F-Type R, 20″ Cyclone grey alloys (with red calipers behind, or black if you wish) and a fixed rear spoiler on the coupe if you want it.
Inside, the British Design F-Type gets Jet leather with a choice of Red, Ivory or Reims Blue stitching, sports seats, carbon fibre trim and InControl Touch infotainment with 380W Meridian Sound.
There’s even an extra eight litres of luggage space thanks to repackaging of key components for the 2017 model year F-Type. About enough for a big box of Kleenex.
The Jaguar F-TYPE British Design comes with the 3.0 litre V6 S engine delivering 375bhp, eight-speed Quickshift gearbox and all-wheel drive. The Coupe costs from £75225 and the Convertible from £80,390, pitching it in between the regular F-Type S and F-Type R.
Now available to order from Jaguar’s UK dealers (it will also be available in other markets), the F-Type British design will start to arrive with customers in the Spring.
