Eagle – the Jaguar E-Type specialists – have moved the E-Type on again with the creation of the hand-built Eagle Spyder GT.
Anyone with even the slightest interest in cars loves the Jaguar E-Type, and the E-Type is still living and breathing in the hand of Eagle, an E-Type specialist that doesn’t just restore and modify, but creates new E-Types too – like the Eagle Spyder GT.The Eagle Spyder GT is joining Eagle’s two bespoke E-Type creations – the Eagle Speedster and Eagle Low Drag GT – as a beguiling combination of the two cars, designed to offer great performance and practicality. At a price.
That price – if you tick all the options and throw in a few bespoke requests – is likely to get up towards £1 million, but for that you will get a truly bespoke E-Type that takes 6000 hours to create and will, eventually, be one of just a handful in the world.
Eagle say the new Spyder GT has all the performance of the Low Drag GT combined with the stunning looks of the Speedster – complete with folding roof – and is based on an original 1960s E-Type with a hand-crafted aluminium body and a choice of Jaguar engines. Although most buyers will doubtless opt for Eagle’s own 4.7 litre engine with five-speed gearbox.
Paul Brace, Director at eagle, said:
Development of the Spyder GT began soon after the launch of the Speedster in 2011 and, like everything we produce, we wanted to ensure that we got as close to perfection as humanly possible.
We’re renowned for being perfectionists and our clients are too – so we took the time to develop and deliver an E-Type that stands proud alongside the Speedster and the Low Drag GT.
The first Eagle Spyder GT is due with its owner this summer, and if you have deep enough pockets to buy one we’d suggest you get in touch with Eagle post-haste.
