Suzuki has extended the Grand Vitara SZ Range with new engines and a minor restyle
The Suzuki Vitara was probably the first compact 4×4 to hit the market, over 20 years ago. And it’s sold well. Admittedly to hairdressers, but a market’s a market. And Suzuki hasn’t stood still in that 20 odd years, so the Vitara turned in to the Grand Vitara, and last year the Suzuki Grand Vitara SZ range was launched.
When the SZ range launched it did so with a 2.4 litre engine. But, in these constrained times, a 2.4 litre engine is not going to be your biggest selling point, particularly in a compact SUV. So Suzuki has announced they have extended the range to include a bit more economy.
So you now get the option of a 1.6 litre petrol or a 1.9 litre DDiS diesel. The petrol engine delivers 105bhp and has emissions of 195g/km, whilst the diesel offers 127bhp with 183g/km.
Suzuki has thrown in a minor restyle, with some tweaks to the grill and bumper and new door mirrors plus some minor updates to the interior. The entry-level SZ3 gets AirCon, ESP and 16″ alloys as standard, whilst the SZ4 adds 17″ alloys, 6xCD with MP3 compatibility and privacy glass.
Prices start at £13,600 for the petrol and £16,200 for the diesel. On sale now.
