The new Peugeot 3008 becomes a Crossover 308
The new Peugeot 3008 will probably be revealed later today, but we get the first look at Peugeot’s new Crossover/SUV thanks to a French Audio company.
The Peugeot 3008 is a bit of an odd car, surprisingly easy to live with but not exactly setting the market on fire, especially as the market now prefers SUVs and Crossovers to MPVs.Peugeot has finally woken up to that, and is about to deliver a new 3008 that looks like a Crossover rather than an odd-looking MPV, and it looks destined for a reveal later today (23 May 2016).
But ahead of that reveal, French Audio Company Focal has published a photo of the 3008 (above) to shout out that it will be supplying the Audio system for the new 3008, and with a bit of twiddling we’ve turned it in to a photo that gives us a proper look at what appears to be a convincing big brother to the 2008.
Based on Peugeot’s EMP2 platform, the 3008 is effectively a crossover take on the 308, and if it’s as good as the 308 then it will be a big improvement on the outgoing model.
Inside will get Peugeot’s i-Cockpit with virtual instruments, as well as the little steering wheel sitting below the virtual instrument binnacle, a decent central infotainment screen with quick access physical buttons below and a big jump in cabin feel and quality.
No doubt we’ll get the full details later today when Peugeot reveals the new 3008 officially.
