Honda Civic Type R Black Edition – the last 100 Type Rs in the UK

As the Honda Civic Type R run comes to an end, Honda UK reveal a run-out model for the last 100 cars in the UK – the Honda Civic Type R Black Edition.

Honda Civic Type R production is now pretty much at and end, but Honda UK has a bit of a treat for UK buyers with a special run-out model – the Honda Civic Type R Black Edition.

The Black Edition Type R is part of the UK’s 2,500 run of Type Rs, but it’s launched to mark the end of Type R production and the last 100 cars to be sold in the UK.

Already on the way to dealers, Honda isn’t being greedy with the Black Edition, charging the same £32,300 the range-topping Civic Type R GT costs.

There’s not a huge spec list of cosmetic changes and equipment enhancements for the Black Edition, but it does come with red sideplates for the big back wing and red accents for the black interior. And that’s it.

Phil Webb, Head of Cars at Honda UK, said:

There are only going to be 2,500 of the current Civic Type Rs on UK roads, so the car is going to be pretty special as it is – but with the addition of this special limited run of 100 Black Editions to the product line up and owners will have a real collectors piece on their hands.

If you fancy a current generation Type R (and why wouldn’t you?) then you’ll need to pick up the phone to your local dealer asap if you’re going to grab one of the last Black Edition cars.
