Rolls Royce has released the first video of the new Rolls Royce Ghost

The Rolls Royce Ghost is now very close to its first public reveal at the Frankfurt Motor Show next month. Not that there are many secrets left. The Ghost is pretty much exactly what the EX200 Concept was, bar minor detail. And the EX200 / RR4 has been out and about quite a bit, most recently at Salon Prive last month. And we were a bit surprised to see that in the flesh it seems pretty much as big as the Phantom – but more purposeful.

But as the public reveal gets closer Rolls Royce has delivered more detail. We know the RR Ghost will have a 6.6 litre V12 producing 563bhp with a 0-60 time of 4.7 seconds, and we know the RR Ghost Price and Specifications. But despite all the RR Ghost Spy Shots we’ve seen – some of them pretty much production ready – we haven’t seen the Rolls Royce Ghost on the move.

But Rolls Royce has decided it’s time we did, so they’ve released a short video featuring the Rolls Royce Ghost being driven by Dan Balmer, Ghost Production Manager. We get to see the Ghost on the move, and it does seem more planted than a Rolls Royce usually is. It still seems to do the ‘Nose Rise’ you get in a Rolls when you accelerate, but it does seem altogether more ‘Sporty’ than any previous Rolls. We also get a glimpse of the interior – although what’s on view is pretty much what you’d expect.

The Rolls Royce Ghost will have some immediate competition to deal with, though. The new Grand Bentley will be shown any day at Pebble Beach, and that is one car the Rolls Royce Ghost may struggle against.

Despite the economy, we could be about to see Super-Luxury-Sporty-Saloon-Wars break out between the two former siblings – Rolls Royce and Bentley.
