2018 Porsche Cayenne TEASED
The 2018 Porsche Cayenne is teased in a design sketch ahead of a reveal next week, but don’t expect the new Cayenne to depart too far from its current look.
The Porsche Cayenne was pilloried when it arrived, but it’s gone on to be the foundation of Porsche’s money-making machine. And now there’s a new Cayenne on the way.Teased with a single design sketch (above) the 2018 Porsche Cayenne is a completely new car and does promise to move the big SUV game on significantly.
But this is Porsche, so although everything will be shiny and new, it won’t look massively different to the current Cayenne.
Expect to see influences from the Macan – which is already very similar to the Cayenne – and some influences from the 911 too, but it’ll be an evolution of the Cayenne, not a revolution in design.
But under the skin it’s all change, as the new Cayenne will be built on the same platform as the latest Audi Q7 and Bentley Bentayga, and it’s likely to get a lot of its engines from the new 911.
Not only that, but in addition to hybrid versions the rumour mill is convinced Porsche are going to deliver a new Cayenne with the electric powertrain from the Mission E, creating the first all electric production car from Porsche.
All will be revealed when the 2018 Porsche Cayenne debuts on 25 August 2017.
