Honda Sports EV Concept teased ahead of a Tokyo Motor Show debut
The Honda Sports EV Concept is teased ahead of a debut at the 2017 Tokyo Motor show, looking like a sports car take on the Urban EV Concept.
Honda are on something of a mission to deliver electric cars, with the very appealing retro Urban EV Concept at Frankfurt this month previewing a production model for 2019.Now, ahead of the Tokyo Motor Show next month, Honda has a new electric car concept tease, and it looks to be an electric retro sports car – the Honda Sports EV Concept.
At this stage Honda doesn’t have too much to say about the Sports EV, but it does say it will have a friendly face, be a joy to drive and be an EV with AI technology. Oh, and it’ll be ‘Compact’.
From what little we can see, the Sports EV will come with styling similar to the Urban EV, which to our eyes was a resounding success with its retro-inspired looks which, as more than one reader pointed out, looks much like the original VW Golf.
We’re hoping that with the Sports EV Honda will reveal what’s under the skin of their appealing concepts, because all we actually know is that it’s and electric powertrain with some autonomous capabilities.
If it’s sensibly priced with a decent range it could be a winner for Honda.
