
The Hyundai Ioniq 3 – Hyundai’s new entry-level EV – goes on sale with a choice of two powertrains and four spec levels. Costs from £22,245.
It was back in April that Hyundai revealed the Ioniq 3 as a new entry-level electric Hyundai, effectively the Hyundai take on the Kia EV2, aiming to challenge EVs such as the Renault 5 and VW ID. Polo, and now it goes on sale in the UK.Hyundai is calling the Ioniq 3 the ‘Aero Hatch’ thanks to its slippery shape – which looks a bit like the love child of an Ioniq 6 and Veloster – and it’s being offered with the choice of two powertrains: a 42.2kWh battery with 144bhp and 61kWh with 134bhp, and four trim levels – Advance, Premium, Ultimate and N Line Evo.
The entry-level Advance trim is the only option for the 42.2kWh powertrain (priced from £22,245) and comes with 16″ alloys, LED lights, parking sensors, Climate, Smart Cruise, 12.9″ infotainment, and safety nannies including High Beam Assist and Blind Spot. You can also have the Advance with 61kWh powertrain for £22,245 (inc ECG). Move up to Premium trim (from £25,945), and you also get 17″ alloys, Privacy Glass, battery heating, 9.9″ drive display and auto wipers.
Next up is the Ultimate trim (from £28,445), which adds 18″ alloys, Matrix LED headlights, heated front seats and steering wheel, ambient lighting and Smart Cruise.
Topping the Ioniq 3 offerings is N Line Evo (from £30,445), which gets N Line exterior bits, 19″ alloys, 14.6″ infotainment, suede and cloth N Line seats, N Line interior design with splashes of red, and a surround view monitor.
