Ford Focus RS Red Edition
The Ford Focus RS Red Edition arrives as a limited run of 300 units of the RS Edition, complete with Race Red paint job. Costs from £36,295.
With the exception of a few white smoke issues, the Focus RS has proved to be something of a game raiser in the hot hatch landscape, with its four-wheel drive, impressive power and proper fun at a sensible price. But we’re a bit down the track for the RS’s launch excitement, so Ford has been keeping interest going with the Focus RS Edition complete with Quaife limited-slip differential and some extra tweaks.
That was only a few months ago, but we’re already being treated to another limited edition RS with the arrival of this – the Ford Focus RS Red Edition – as RS production nears a close.
It won’t take the IQ of Stephen Hawking to work out the main appeal of the new Red Edition is a Race Red Paint job, but there is more than that on offer.
As well as the Race Red paint job there’s grey brake calipers nestling behind black-cast alloys, as well as the RS Edition’s black roof, door mirrors and rear spoiler.
As an RS Edition model, the Red also gets the Quaife limited-slip diff for a bit more handling prowess, in addition to the cosmetic tweaks.
Andy Barratt, Ford UK boss, said:
The Focus RS Edition represents accessible performance at its finest.
As RS production nears its end, we wanted to celebrate with a limited run of cars for those who want to stand out as an RS fan.
The Ford Focus RS Red Edition costs from £36,295, just 300 are being built and production starts in February 2018.
