NEW Ford Focus RS Edition gets Quaife limited-slip Diff
The new Ford Focus RS Edition arrives with a Quaife limited-slip differential for more grip, plus cosmetic tweaks. Costs from £35,795.
It’s been a while since the hot hatch market was turned upside down with the arrival of the new Ford Focus RS, with its abundance of power, drift mode, four-wheel drive and sensible price point. But however appealing the Focus RS is, there’s always room for more, and for ‘Special Edition’ models to tempt buyers in to showrooms. Step forward the new Ford Focus RS Edition, which is effectively a Special Edition RS with Ford’s Focus RS Option Pack fitted.
Ford has fitted a Quaife limited-slip differential to add an extra layer of ability to the RS Edition, which will enhance acceleration and stability by shifting torque around the front axle, and should make the RS Edition even more impressive to drive.
Available in Nitrous Blue, the RS Edition gets Black 19″ alloys, RS Blue Brembo callipers, Recaro Shell Seats, Carbon Fibre bits on the inside, Privacy Glass, Keyless and heated steering wheel.
Leo Roeks, Ford Performance Director, said:
For hardcore driving enthusiasts, the additional mechanical grip offered by the Quaife LSD will make it even easier to carry speed through a corner on the track, and maximise acceleration on the way out. The new setup also delivers greater mechanical stability and control when braking hard, and will help drivers set the car up for power-slides using Drift Mode.
The Focus RS Edition takes our ‘fun to drive’ philosophy to a new level for an everyday road car.
The Ford Focus RS Edition is now available to order at Ford’s RS dealers. It costs £35,795.
