Ford Focus RS gets new Option Pack
The Ford Focus RS is now available with a new Option Pack which includes a limited-slip differential for the front axle and new styling.
The Ford Focus RS is a stunningly effective hot hatch, garnering plaudits from one and all for it’s power and performance. But even the best can be improved. So Ford Performance has come up with a new Option Pack for the RS which not only adds a bit more dynamism to the RS but tweaks its looks too.
The headline is the inclusion of a Quaife Limited-Slip Diff (LSD) for the front axle which limits the torque to a wheel with the least traction and sends it to the opposite wheel, counteracting wheel spin and improving acceleration and stability.
The LSD works seamlessly with the RS’s other performance goodies including the four-wheel drive, Dynamic Torque Vectoring and Torque Vectoring Control – and even drift mode.
The RS Option Pack also includes low-gloss black 19″ forged alloys with RS centre caps, RS Blue Brembo brake calipers, Nitrous Blue shell seats, matte black roof and mirror caps, matte black rear roof spoiler with Blue RS logos on the side.
Leo Roeks, Ford Performance Director, said:
Our new Focus RS Option Pack represents accessible performance at its finest,” Roeks said. “Improving on the class-leading driving dynamics of the Focus RS was no small task – but our Ford Performance engineers have delivered a drivetrain capable of wringing every drop of performance from the 350 PS EcoBoost engine.
This new RS Option Pack looks to be the UK and Europe take on the new Focus RS Limited Edition just launched in the US.
So far, no prices are available for the RS Option Pack, but we’ll update here when we get them.
