70 lucky owners have taken delivery of the Bugatti Chiron in 2017
Bugatti announces that it has hit its delivery targets for the new Chiron in 2017, delivering 70 of the hypercars to deep-pocketed petrolheads around the world.
The Bugatti Veyron was, and is, and astonishing car; extreme in every way from price to performance and, at one time, the fastest car…in the world. But it was never the easiest task to flog Veyrons to the world’s wealthiest petrolheads, and Bugatti resorted to endless special editions to complete the run of cars before the Veyron’s replacement arrived.
The Bugatti Chiron, the aforementioned replacement for the Veyron, arrived early last year complete with a £2 million price tag, 1479bhp and the ability to get to 62mph in 2.5 seconds. And it’s selling.
Bugatti plan to build 500 Chirons during its lifespan, and they already have 300 of them sold. So the only question, for now at least, is can they manage to churn out 70 a year?
So far, for 2017, Bugatti are so chuffed they’ve hit their 70 car delivery target they’ve kindly let the world know. Well done them.
So far, 43 per cent of orders for the Chiron come from Europe, 26 per cent from North America, 23 per cent from the Middle East and just 8 per cent from Asia Pacific.
Bugatti have the next three year’s production sorted with the orders they already have, but are they going to have to resort to endless special edition Chirons too to shift the last 200 units?
Perhaps there are only 300 petrolheads wealthy enough in the world to stump up not just the asking price but the running costs too, and Bugatti will have to tease them in to a second with ‘unique’ Chirons in the end to complete the run?
