Porsche Macan facelift teased
The Porsche Macan is getting a facelift and is expected to be revealed later in July as Porsche deliver a video of the updated Macan testing in South Africa.
When Porsche delivers a new version of an existing model, you do have to look hard to see the changes they’ve made. They are there, of course, but they are always evolutionary. So when the time comes for a facelift, you struggle even more to see what’s been done, which is why Porsche has no problems delivering a tease video for the Macan’s facelift featuring cars which look completely undisguised.
But look closer and you can see bits of black tape hiding tweaks, nips and tucks, including modest titivations to the front end and some revised lights. Beyond that, it gets trickier to spot, and we don’t get a look at the Macan’s interior yet, although don’t expect massive changes there either beyond updated infotainment.
Under the skin it’s a slightly different story, with performance upgrades, more power and a new generation of engines delivering a higher top speed, including, it’s expected, a 435bhp 2.9 litre V6 Turbo for the Macan Turbo.
Despite declaring the Macan the ‘Sports car of its sector’, Porsche are keen to demonstrate in the video that it has real off-road chops too, with high altitude testing on rocky tracks.
The Macan has turned in to a real success for Porsche – accounting for some 40 per cent of sales – and the tweaks it’s getting look set to cement its success further.
