Mercedes V6 X 350d 4MATIC goes on sale in the UK
The Mercedes X-Ccass – Mercedes take on the Nissan Navara Pick-up – can now be had with V6 power as the X 350d. Costs from £46,020.
It’s a year since the Mercedes X-Class arrived as Mercedes looked to cash-in on the growing market for ‘Posh Pick-Ups’ by tacking the Three Pointed Star to what is, essentially, a Nissan Navara. When the X-Class went on sale in the UK last October, it came with a choice of three trims – Pure, Progressive and Power – and a four-pot diesel engine with 161bhp or 188bhp. But that now changes with the arrival of the V6 X-Class in the new X 350d.
You will still be able to buy the four-cylinder X-Class, but in future you will be limited to only Pure and Progressive trims, with the range-topping Power trim only available on the new X 350d. And the 350d will only be available with the Power trim and not the lower offerings.
For what amounts to £42k (once you add the VAT to the list price of £38,350) what you get is the poshest, most powerful X-Class available and a spec which includes Artico and Dinamica interior, 18″ alloys, electric front seats, painted bumpers, chrome bits and cruise to make it a very car-like pick-up.
You also get 4Matic 4WD with three different gearbox modes and Dynamic Select for driving modes, all mated to the V6 diesel with 255bhp and 405lb/ft of torque.
If you want the new range-topping Mercedes X 350d, you can now order it from Mercedes-Benz Vans in the UK, with first customer deliveries in October.
