Nissan Qashqai gets new NissanConnect Infotainment
Nissan continue their updates for the best-selling Qashqai, with a new NissanConnect Infotainment system complete with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The Nissan Qashqai has come in for a number of upgrades recently (mainly driven by WLTP needs) with a new 1.3 litre petrol engine replacing the previous 1.2 and 1.6 litre engines, a new DCT ‘box option and a new upgraded 1.5 litre diesel engine. Now Nissan are throwing a new NissanConnect Infotainment system at the Qashqai (our only real gripe when we had our long term Qashqai in) which promises to be a lot more useful.
The main plus of the new system is that it finally integrates your Smartphone, adds Android Auto and Apple CarPlay (but not on entry-level Visia), adds OTA (over the air) map and software updates and gives you TomTom Premium Traffic for real-time traffic data.
The same 7″ size as the old Infotainment, the new unit has fewer hard keys and new multi-touch capability with easy search, personalisation for the home screen, 3D maps, Door to Door Navigation App and the ability to send maps and routes from your phone to the car.
Nissan has also tweaked the display area between the rev counter and speedo to show additional info from phone calls and texts and to turn-by-turn Nav instructions.
