2019 Porsche 911 Cabriolet joins the new 992 911 Coupe
The new 2019 Porsche 911 Cabriolet arrives hot on the heels of the new 911 Coupe, offering open-top 911 fun in the Carrera S and Carrera 4S Cabriolet.
It’s only six weeks since the new 992 Porsche 911 arrived as the latest evolution of Porsche’s most iconic, and just as Porsche has done since 1982 it’s getting a soft-top version too – the 2019 Porsche 911 Cabriolet.Just like the new 911 Coupe, the 911 Cabriolet comes in S and 4S guises, with the 911 S Cabriolet getting rear-wheel drive and the 4S Cabriolet 4WD, both sporting the 3.0 litre turbo flat-six with 444bhp and a PDK gearbox, enough for the S to get to 62mph in 3.9 seconds (3.7s with Sport Chrono) and the 4S in 3.8 seconds (3.6s with Sport Chrono).
What you can have, for the first time in a 911 Cabriolet, is the sport chassis configuration with PASM thanks to the new engine mounting position offering greater torsional rigidity if you want your 911 Cabriolet to behave like the 911 Coupe.
In just about every regard the 911 Cabriolet is just the same as the 911 Coupe, although there are changes to accommodate the roof, a roof that’s fully automatic, can raise or lower in just 12.0 seconds at up to 31mph and whose structure contains magnesium ‘bows’ to stop it ballooning at high speeds.
The new 911 Cabriolet is now on sale at Porsche’s UK dealers, with the 911 S Cabriolet priced at £102,755 and the 911 4S Cabriolet from £108,063.
