Ferrari Hybrid Supercar tease
Ferrari tease the arrival of their new Hybrid Supercar tomorrow (29 May 2019). But will it be a V6 of V8 Hybrid?
A few weeks ago we learnt that a new Ferrari Hybrid Supercar will be revealed before the end of the month. Now, with just a few days of the month left, Ferrari has revealed the new car will debut tomorrow, 29 May 2019, and has released a teaser for the event.
What we can see from the tease image (above) is a pair of big, high-mounted exhausts and what appear to be square-off tail lights. Apart from that, it looks like a Red Ferrari. No surprise.
We’re still not entirely sure what ICE power Ferrari is using for this hybrid supercar, because they are known to be developing both V6 and V8 Hybrid powertrains.
But perhaps it’s logical that this hybrid will use the V8 because it’s expected to get 968 horses to play with, and there have been rumours it could also be capable of four-wheel drive thanks to electric motors on the front axle.
Despite this being the only the second hybrid from Ferrari, it’s expected to outperform its predecessor – LaFerrari – and be a full production model, not a limited-run offering.
Despite the promise of huge power, the hybrid Supercar is a big deal for Ferrari – and a taste of much more to come – as it has to try and get its average CO2 levels in check for when the Ferrari Purosangue SUV arrives and pushes Ferrari above the level of sales to be exempt from average CO2 regulations.
All will be revealed tomorrow.
