Reservations open for the electric Vauxhall Corsa-e
The new Vuaxhall Corsa-e – Vauxhall’s first electric car – can now be reserved in the UK with prices starting from £26,490 – after grant.
The Vauxhall Corsa-e – Vauxhall’s first foray in to electric cars – officially turned up just a week or so ago after photos leaked out ahead of a planned reveal. And now it’s, effectively, going on sale in the UK.Having bitten the bullet and revealed the new electric Corsa, Vauxhall has moved swiftly to get it on sale – although officially it’s a reservation rather than an order – and that’s happening today (4 June 2019).
Vauxhall are offering a reservation for a £500 deposit, and an incentive too with a free home charging kit for the first 500 orders, and a list price which starts at £26,490.
Strictly speaking, that £26,490 is after the car grant of £3,500 – which means it’s actually priced at £29,990 – and you will be able to spend more as Vauxhall promise the Corsa-e will be available in two trim levels. Which puts the Corsa on a par with the entry-level 40kWh Nissan LEAF.
But the Corsa-e does come with a bigger range than the LEAF (although it’s a chunk smaller) with a 205-mile range on offer and the promise of an 80 per cent charge in 30 minutes on a rapid charger.
The ntrim level details haven’t been revealed, save to say that all Corsa-e models will come with a 7″ touchscreen, 11kWh on-board charger, Sat Nav, LED headlights, alloys, DAb and parking sensors.
But although you can put down a £500 deposit from today for the Corsa-e, you’ll be waiting until 2020 for delivery.
