Audi e-tron Sportback
The production-ready versions of the Audi e-tron Sportback and Audi RS Q8 super-SUV will debut at the Los Angeles Motor Show, Audi confirms.
The only proper electric car Audi currently has in showrooms is the Audi e-tron SUV – even if there aren’t as many of them around as first expected – but it’s soon to be joined by its sexier sibling – the Audi e-tron Sportback.Audi has confirmed the debut of the e-tron Sportback for the Los Angeles Motor Show later this month in production guise, as well as a debut for the range-topping performance SUV, the Audi RS Q8.
The e-tron Sportback is an e-tron in a sexier body – and looking quite like the Jaguar I-Pace – and will come with the same electric powertrain as the e-tron, and no doubt the more powerful powertrain expected to arrive in the e-tron S at some point too.
Also making its debut at the LA Motor Show is the range-topping Audi RS Q8 SUV, a car Audi say will offer ‘Epic’ performance from its eight-cylinder twin-turbo V8, complete with 48-volt mild hybrid system, and will come with the cylinder deactivation technology and the ability to recover up to 12kW of power to enable ‘gliding’ for up to 40 seconds.
Full details of the production versions of the Audi e-tron Sportback and RS Q8 will be revealed in LA on 20 November.
