2020 Jaguar F-Type to be revealed NEXT week
The 2020 Jaguar F-Type will be revealed on 2 December, probably with a ‘Hot Wheels’ stunt, but it looks like it’s not getting BMW’s V8.
We’ve been expecting the arrival of a ‘new’ Jaguar F-Type for a while, but Jaguar has now confirmed it will be revealed on 2 December 2019, and will be revealed in partnership with Hot Wheels. The date of the reveal was announced on social media (video below), and we can only guess that if Jaguar ar debuting the new F-Type in partnership with Hot Wheels that it’s going to involve some sort of Hot Wheels tribute stunt. But then JLR do love a launch stunt or two.
There has been speculation, and hope, that Jaguar would be quite radical with the new F-Type – after all, it’s getting on a bit – but it does seem it is more a cosmetic titivation and a mechanical and tech upgrade than anything a new direction.
There will be a new nose and back end, and the interior will be much more current Jaguar with the latest JLR infotainment, better quality materials and the sort of tech now found in the I-Pace, including digital instruments.
There will be changes to the oily bits too, with the V6 Supercharged lump giving way to the new straight-six engines, but it looks like the four-pot engines will be little changed and, despite hopes and long-standing speculation, it seems the new F-Type will launch with the current JLR/Ford Supercharged V8, rather than the BMW V8 we’ve been expecting.
But all will be revealed on Monday.
