The Aston Martin Vulcan – Aston’s ultimate track-day car – gets its dynamic debut today at the 2015 Goodwood Festival of Speed on the hillclimb.
The Aston Martin Vulcan was revealed at the Geneva Motor Show in the spring as AML’s take on an ultimate track day car – just like the McLaren P1 GTR and Ferrari FXX K programmes – and now it’s getting its dynamic debut at the 2015 Goodwood Festival of Speed.Displaying a more aggressive design than we’re used to from Aston – and doubtless previewing their future road car design direction – the Vulcan comes with a naturally aspirated V12 delivering more than 800bhp, a carbon fibre monocoque, clever suspension and ceramic brakes.
Aston are building just 24 Vulcans – with each costing up to £2 million – and Goodwood will be the first chance for UK car lovers to not only get up close to the Vulcan – it will be on display in the Supercar Paddock – but witness it blatting up the Goodwood Hillclimb.
We should also get some indication of the sort of performance owners can expect from the Vulcan when Aston’s exclusive owner events start up in 2016, with Aston promising that performance from the Vulcan will be ‘Truly Extreme’.
The 2015 Goodwood Festival of Speed is already underway and finishes on Sunday (28 June).
