The 2014 Detroit Auto Show is on the way next month, and Audi are heading to Motor City with a concept they haven’t managed to come up with a name for – all they’ve managed is the ‘New Audi Show Car’. So what is it?
At 4.20 metres long, the Audi Concept is a bit smaller than the current Audi Q3, so it’s logical this could be the first look at the Audi Q1, due in 2016, as Audi refine what the Q1 will be and what it will offer.
Audi say their concept has a powerful stance and clean lines – as if hewn from a solid – with a singleframe grill, coupe-like roof and short overhangs with the whole car sitting on 19″ wheels. But if the artists impressions of the new concept are accurate, the whole car is less than four feet high. Which it’s clearly not.
So you’ll need to imagine the sketches with much smaller wheels and a bigger greenhouse to get close to what the real concept will look like.
Not only is the new Audi Concept all things to all men, it’s also yet another in a long line of Audi e-tron models.
We should know more – and if this new concept points at the new Audi Q1 – by Detroit in the New Year.
