Audi PB18 e-tron Electric supercar heading for Pebble Beach
The Audi PB 18 e-tron is an electric supercar study heading for a debut at Pebble Beach in August, billed as a sports car for the future.
You might think VW’s headline act at Pebble Beach next month will be the reveal of the Bugatti Divo, teased again earlier today, but Audi is busy playing spoiler again, just as it did with the Jaguar I-Pace in Geneva, with a new electric supercar concept dubbed the Audi PB18 e-tron.We’re sure Audi has put more thought in to the e-tron supercar than the name – it’s to denote a Pebble Beach 2018 Concept – as it’s the first real electric supercar effort since the electric R8. Let’s hope the PB18 has a better chance of setting the world on fire.
Audi are giving very little away about the PB18, but what we can see in the single tease image for the PB18 (above) is a very low, very wide supercar with no door mirrors (cameras instead, like the e-tron SUV), statement LED running lights and the four rings.
Audi say the PB18 also references the Audi R18 e-tron Le Mans car whose technology has ‘inspired’ solutions for details on the new concept.
Designed at Malibu Design Loft, the PB18 e-tron will be uncovered at Laguna Seca on 23 August, move on to The Quail on 24 August, back to Laguna Seca on 25 August and get a final showing on 26 August at the Concours d’Elegance in Pebble Beach.
