The launch model of the new Fiat 500X crossover – the 500X Opening edition – goes on sale in the UK priced from £17,595 for the 2WD to £25,845 for the AWD.
The Fiat 500X – Fiat’s take on the MINI Countryman – debuted at the Paris Motor Show in September, and now it’s gone on sale with a launch model – the Fiat 500X Opening Edition.
Just like the regular 500X range, the Opening edition comes in two flavours – the City Look 2WD and the AWD butch version – with extra equipment for both and a total of just 500 examples available for the UK.
The 4×2 City Look 500X is based on the Pop Star trim but gets more standard equipment, including Art Grey pastel paint, 18″ alloys, Safety Pack (including Lane Assist, Blind Spot Assist, Reversing Camera and Brake Control), the Comfort Pack (Keyless, front armrest and electric lumbar support), tinted windows and ‘Opening Edition’ badges.
The City Look Opening edition comes with the 1.4 litre MultiAir II petrol engine and costs £17,595 – the same as a Pop Star, but with £1725 worth of extras – with just 375 on offer
The AWD Off Road 500X Opening edition is based on the Cross Plus spec and gets Visibility Pack (auto lights and wipers, power mirrors and electro-chromatic rear-view mirror), steering wheel paddles and ‘Opening Edition’ badges in addition to the comprehensive Cross Plus spec. Just 125 of the AWD versions are available – all with a tri-coat Amore Red’ paint job and costing £25,845, the same price as the Cross Plus model but with £2,850 of extras and the 2.0 MultiJet II 140hp engine with a 9-speed automatic.
The Fiat 500X Opening edition is now on sale, with first UK deliveries expected in May 2015.
