The Hyundai x20 - First Photo
Hyundai’s new small MPV / Crossover – the Hyundai ix20 – has been revealed ahead of the Paris Motor Show.
In its quest to take over the world, Hyundai has revealed – well, we now have a photo instead of the tease sketch we got at the start of the month – the Hyunda ix20, a small MPV/Crossover which is actually just about ready to roll – Hyundai say it will go on sale in the UK in November.
So, it’s an all new MPV from Hyundai; little brother to the ix35? Sort of. In fact the Hyundai ix20 is the Kia Venga with the nose from the ix35 and some tweaks out the back. Hyundai-ise the Kia interior and Voila! – a new Hyundai MPV.
Which has confused us a bit. We always thought the ‘X’ in the model designation was for a model range where all wheel drive was an option. But the ix20 won’t get all wheel drive. But the ix20 will otherwise be well equipped and will get goodies like AirCon, Bluetooth and ESP even in basic spec and cost from just over £12k.
Oily bits should be a pair of 1.4 litre jobs – one petrol, one diesel. This route will get you around 90bhp from the diesel, but if you want more get up and go there will also be a 1.6 litre petrol offering 125bhp.
Another Hyundai winner? Probably.
