Infiniti Q60 Black S COULD deliver 500bhp
The Infiniti Q60 Black S has been revealed as a Renault F1-inspired take on the Infiniti Q60, but with extreme bodywork and potential 500bhp KERS engine.
The Infiniti Q60 Black S is a concept car from Infiniti to celebrate its technical partnership with Renault F1, boasting extreme body mods and offering the promise of a KERS-boosted 500bhp.Based on the top of the range, 4WD, Infiniti Q60 Coupe with a 400bhp 3.0 litre V6, Infiniti and Renault are attempting to develop a unique KERS boost for the Q60 Black S which should deliver 500bhp.
For now, it seems all we’ve really got is the promise of a KERS boost to 500bhbp for the Q60, and a look at what adding an extreme body mods does to Infiniti’s rather elegant coupe.
The changes are significant, with completely new bumpers with much more aggressive looks and airflow, side skirts, active air vents on the bonnet as well as diffuser, splitter and rear wing. Oddly, it looks rather good, and the elegance of the Q60 is still evident. It’s cleverly done.
But despite all the work to make the Q60 look like a track animal without destroying its inherent style, this is just a concept.
If Infiniti can find a way to translate the KERS of the Renault F1 car, and can do it at a cost that makes the Q60 Black S commercially viable, we could see it go in to production.
But don’t hold your breath.
