The Jaguar C-X75 – the Jaguar hypercar that isn’t going in to production – will be resurrected for the James Bond villain’s car in the upcoming Bond move SPECTRE.
We already know that James Bond will drive an Aston Martin DB10 in the new Bond 24 film SPECTRE, but it seems the villain of the film – who may, or may not, be Blofeld – will be driving something even more impressive.
According to Autocar, the Bond producers have done a deal with Jaguar to take the Jaguar C-X75 out of mothballs, give it a bit of a makeover and hand it over for the Bond villain to match Bond’s impressive wheels.
It seems the C-X75 for SPECTRE will not be powered by Jaguar’s jet hybrid system, but will instead make use of JLR’s supercharged V8 – a sensible move.
If the story is real – and it seems JLR are not denying it – it won’t be the first time Bond has battled a baddie in a Jag; in Die Another Day, Bond drove an Aston Martin Vanquish against the villain’s Jaguar XKR.
The whole idea of a Bond villain driving a Jag also fits in very well with Jaguar’s recent ‘Good to be Bad’ campaign for the F-Type, where Jaguar were keen to tell us that the best movie villains drive a Jag.
It’s an interesting prospect – with every chance the C-X75 will overshadow the DB10 – but we won’t know for sure until next year.
