Jaguar XE SV Project 8 is a 592bhp V8 XE from Jaguar’s Special Operations
The Jaguar XE SV Project 8 is a limited edition XE from Jaguar’s Special Operations Division with a 592bhp V8. Just 300 being built.
Jaguar has rolled out the XE SV Project 8 from their Special Operations Division ahead of a proper reveal at the Goodwood Festival of Speed next month, and it’s a bit of a beast.Jaguar are being a bit coy on details, but they do confirm the powerful XE – with 592bhp from the venerable Jaguar supercharged V8 – is the most powerful Jaguar to hit production, showing that the ageing V8 still has a trick or two up its sleeve.
Apart from the output of the V8, we do know that Jaguar will be hand-building just 300 units at their SVO centre in Coventry, and you can expect the price to be significant; the last such SVO model – the Jaguar Project 7 F-Type – cost around £130k and was also revealed at Goodwood.
Although there’s nothing else officially from Jaguar, we can see in the image (above) and in the video (below) that the Project 8 XE has a pretty aggressive body kit, what looks to be wider tracks, bigger air intakes, big splitter and a thumping great back wing.
John Edwards, Jaguar SVO MD, said:
The time is right for SVO to produce the most extreme performance road car in the history of Jaguar. The SVO team is possessed by the spirit of performance and committed to creating the most thrilling driving experience imaginable.
Our clients worldwide were thrilled by the F-TYPE Project 7. The new XE SV Project 8 takes aerodynamics and performance engineering to another level – it is conceived for enthusiasts and the most discerning collectors. The price for such an extreme performance sports car available in strictly limited numbers will reflect that.
Jaguar say they will reveal full details of the XE Project 8 on 28 June, two days before the car debuts at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
