Jaguar XF Sportbrake Chequered Flag Edition
Jaguar updates the XF for 2019 with new RDE2 compliant diesel engines, new technology and an XF Chequered Flag special edition.
Sales of the Jaguar XF may be struggling at the moment under the weight of tariff concerns, diesel loathing and never-ending Brexit gloom, but the XF is still a very appealing car and Jaguar are adding to its appeal for 2019 with a range of updates and a special edition model.
Choosing to call the updated XF a 2020 MY XF (thank you USA), the Jaguar XF 2.0d 163PS and 180PS models have been certified under the RDE2 certification process, which doesn’t actually come in to play until 2021, cutting emissions by up to 8g/km and saving a few bob in VED and BIK in the process.
That will mean a first year VED saving of £345 and three-year savings on BIK costs of up to another £1,959, which could help buyers look more favourably on a diesel-engined XF.
Jaguar also delivers a Smartphone Pack for the XF and XF Sportbrake which has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and is standard across the range.
Arriving with the updates for the XF and XF Sportbrake is a new Chequered Flag special edition model with cosmetic tweaks and a choice of engines.
The XF Chequered Flag gets sport front bumpers, Black Pack, body coloured sills, boot spoiler and gloss black alloys, with R-Sport leather interior and dark hex panel finisher and Navigation Pro with InControl Connect Pro.
