The new Jaguar XFR-S Sportbrake made an early appearance yesterday after the first photo leaked out, but this morning Jaguar has done the decent think and made it official.
But rather than making a straightforward XFR Sportbrake, Jaguar has gone the whole hog – just as it did with the F-Type R Coupe – and skipped the 504bhp version of the Supercharged V8 and jumped straight to the full-fat XFR-S with 542bhp.
That means performance of 0-62mph in 4.8 seconds (0.2s down on the XFR-S saloon) and a top speed limited to 186mph. It also means official economy of 22mpg and emissions f 297g/km, but if you ever get better than 17mpg you’re not driving the XFR-S as it should be driven.
Under the skin the XFR-S Sportbrake is pretty much the XFR-S but with a retuned chassis, aerodynamic tweaks, a set of 20″ Varuna alloys and an interior that gets carbon leather and contrasting highlight micro-piping and stitching.
The Jaguar XFR-S Sportbarke will debut at the Geneva Motor Show next week as part of the Jaguar XF 2015 range and go on sale on 1st April 2014. It will cost from £82,495.
