The Jeep Cherokee – Jeep’s new downsized Grand Cherokee – goes on sale in the UK this week and will costs from £25,495 for the front-wheel drive 2.0-litre Longitude 140.

The new Jeep Cherokee debuted at the New York Motor Show in 2013, giving Jeep a new, smaller SUV with ‘good to be ugly’ looks to mop up the still growing demand for SUVs of all sizes. And now it’s going on sale in the UK.
If you want the full-fat Jeep experience in your Cherokee you’ll need to stump up £35,695 for the 2.0-litre Limited 170 Automatic 4×4, but in between there are a number of choices.
The engine choices for the UK are limited to a 2.0 litre diesel with either 140 PS or 170PS, with either a manual or auto ‘box and either FWD or 4WD.
Trim levels are Longitude, Longitude+ and Limited, with all models getting LED tail lights, Climate, 17″ alloys, body-colored door mirrors, Bluetooth, DAB and rear parking sensors.
The Longitude+ spec adds a Uconnect Media Centre, SatNav and nine speakers with an Alpine sub-woofer with the Limited Spec throwing extra toys like Bi-xenon headlights, 18″ alloys, Nappa leather, electric drivers seat, front parking sensors and keyless enter and go in to the mix.
Jeep are also planning on adding a Trailhawk version later in 2014 with extra butch bits, suspension lift and active diff locks for real off-road prowess.
The Jeep Cherokee is now on sale in the UK with first customer cars due in June.
