Cars like the Volvo Amazon (pictured) set to join record-breaking parade of Volvos in the UK
A record-breaking parade of Volvos past and present is planned at the Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground to raise funds for Breast Cancer Care UK.
Car parades of the ‘Most Of’ type are quite common (we blame Guinness World Records), with events like the Jaguar E-Type 50th Anniversary parade and a Ferrari F40 parade. getting as many one-model cars in one place as they canNow it’s the turn of Volvo to have a go at parading the most Volvos (any model in this case) in one place (the record only stands at 600, set in Poland in 2010) with plans for the Volvo 600 event at Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground next Sunday (31 March 2019) aiming to blitz the record, and all in aid of Breast Cancer Care UK.
With around 700,000 Volvos still on the road in the UK, they need fewer than one in a thousand Volvo owners to turn up to make the event a success.
Bruntingthorpe has room for thousands of Volvos, so the organisers are hoping that anyone with a Volvo – Classic or modern – will turn up and enjoy the event, with the event free to enter and watch.
Any Volvo of any era is welcome – from a Volvo Amazon (above) to the latest models, and all point in between – and, although not compulsory, the event organisers would love it if you dressed up for the event (Swedish looks preferred) and did the same for your car.
