The new Lamborghini Huracan Spyder has arrived at the Frankfurt Motor Show delivering open-top thrills to go with the 5.2 litre, 602bhp V10.
The Lamborghini Huracan Spyder has arrived in Frankfurt – 18 months after the Huracan Coupe was revealed – just as Ferrari are preparing to give the new 488 Spider its first public outing. The Huracan Spyder will costs £205,000.Lamborghini claim the new Huracan Spyder will be an impressive 40 per cent stiffer than the Gallardo Spyder, and offer 50 per cent greater downforce, and comes with the same 602bhp 5.2 litre V10 as the coupe, although the Spyder is o.2s slower to 62mph at 3.4 seconds.
There’s new technology on offer for the Spyder too, with cylinder-on-demand and stop-start on offer from launch (the coupe will get both in 2016), helping to improve economy and emissions – officially 23mpg.
Looking pretty much as you would expect a convertible Huracan to look, the Spyder gets new buttresses behind the seats and air intakes above the rear wheels, and the folding soft top – Lamborghini eschewed the idea of a folding hard top – is made from a lightweight fabric and can be lowered or raised in 17 seconds at speeds up to 30mph.
The interior is very much the same as the Huracan Coupe’s, but there is the addition of an electric rear screen so you can choose between buffeting and aural delight.
The Lamborghini Huracan Spyder will arrive in spring 2016, costing from £205,000
