Land Rover Defender Journeys is archiving the 68 year history of Land Rover’s icon

Land Rover is digitally archiving the most memorable journeys made in a Land Rover Defender and Land Rover Series in its 68 year history.

The Land Rover Defender has finally bitten the dust, killed off by modern safety and emissions legislation and, rather sadly, Land Rover has failed to deliver a new Defender before the old had to go.

But even though the new Defender is on the way, Land Rover has decided they want further inspiration for their new rugged off-roader, and what better way than to build a digital archive of the best journeys made in a Defender or Land Rover Series in the last 68 years?

So far Land Rover has around 400 journeys archived, from a wedding proposal to an epic 18 month trip round Africa. But they want more.

As Land Rover say, Land Rover Series and Defenders have been taking their owners to all corners of the globe for three generations, but until now most of those journeys – and the memories that go with them – have been consigned to family photo albums.

But now Land Rover want your memories and experiences to be a part of the history of the Series and Defender Land Rovers, and want you to upload the story of your journey, a story that will become part of the official history of the Land Rover Defender and Series.
