Lewis Hamilton WINS the final F1 Grand Prix of 2019 in Abu Dhabi
Lewis Hamilton end his championship-winning F1 season with a win at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, his 11th of the season. Max Verstappen finishes second.
Lewis Hamilton may already have won yet another F1 Drivers Title this year, but that hasn’t stopped him from relishing a win. And he’s had a season-closing win in Abu Dhabi to add to the 10 wins he’s tallied up this year on the way to yet another title.Hamilton led the race from the start and never looked likely to relinquish his rightful position at the front, clocking up his 84th career win and cementing himself further in to the F1 history books.
Max Verstappen, who started second after Bottas was demoted to the back of the grid, was the runner-up, and that secured him a second place thanks to a good move on Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc who finished third.
Bottas, who started at the back, took a fine fourth place, and that could end up being a third place as Ferrari are under investigation for fuel irregularities, and Sebastian Vettel secured fifth after passing Red Bull’s Alex Albon in the closing laps.
Behind the top teams, the best of the rest was Sergio Perez in the Racing Point followed by Lando Norris in the McLaren, Daniil Kvyat in the Toro Rosso and Carlos Sainz in the McLaren.
