Lexus are to finally debut the Nurburgring Package for the Lexus LFA at the Geneva Motor Show in March
Regular readers may be more than a little surprised to learn that Lexus plans on giving the limited edition Lexus LFA Nurburgring Package a first outing at the Geneva Motor Show next month. For it is almost exactly a year since we reported that Lexus were going to offer the Nurburgring Package for the LFA.
But finally Lexus catch up with what we already knew and are ready to put the LFA, complete with Nurburgring Package, on display. Oddly, they don’t seem to have got round to taking any new photos, as the one they sent us with this press release is the same one we showed you in March 2010. Oh, well. Guess we’ll have to wait until Geneva for more piccies.
But however long it’s taken Lexus to bring us the LFA Nurburgring Package officially, we don’t really care. We’re just pleased the little devil working in the bowls of Lexus Towers is still making sure that Lexus play with real power and real cars and are not just hidebound by hybrid hyperbole.
As a quick recap, the Nurburgring Package comes with a smidge more power (10bhp, which we’re putting down to a different exhaust), a new carbon fibre fixed wing at the back (well, carbon fibre reinforced polymer), a set of soft and sticky tyres and some extra speed dialled in to the transmission’s brain.
Lexus are offering a maximum of 50 Nurburgring Package cars which will form part of the total run of 500 cars. How much, you ask? No idea. And we had rather hoped Lexus might change this LFA Limited Edition to the Hiromu Naruse Package.
It would have been a nice tribute.
