Lotus Evora Roadster at Geneva – probably

The tease for the Lotus Evora Roadster

It’s three years since we reported Lotus future plans for the Evora, with a S/C version, auto ‘box and the Lotus Evora Roadster expected at some point. We’ve had the Evora Supercharged and the Evora Auto, and it looks like the Lotus Evora Roadster is heading to Geneva.

But instead of sending us a moody photo of a the Evora Roadster to whet the appetite, Lotus has sent us the photo you see at the top, comprising a bald-headed man, a bikini top and sun cream, together with the statement that Lotus will ‘Blow the Roof off’ at Geneva.

It’s always possible that Dany Bahar has another fantasy project to deliver at Geneva, but the timing – and the tease – are right for the Evora Roadster. That will almost certainly mean a cloth top Evora (although we did initially think it would be a folding tin-top) and the loss of the 2+2 option for the Evora to accommodate the folding roof – whether it’s a folding tin top of rag top.
